The South Beach Diet Quick and Easy Cookbook: 200 Delicious Recipes Ready in 30 Minutes or Less

From Publishers Weekly

The 30-minute time limit for preparing dinner, popular with Rachael Ray and a host of other cookbook authors, has finally been South Beachified. It's just in time for dieters who've grown bored (or impatient) with The South Beach Diet Cookbook and offers easy recipes that help dieters stay on track. The recipes span all courses, including desserts. Most impressive are the entrées and salads, particularly in their ability to riff on familiar dishes: witness Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce, Chicken and Avocado Salad, and South Beach Classic Burger. Even more inventive fare, such as Thai Shrimp Soup with Lime and Cilantro, is still homey. Adding to the book's unthreatening feel is its idiosyncrasies. It favors certain spices (cilantro, black pepper), vegetables (asparagus, zucchini) and meats and fish (chicken and shrimp). The ingredient glossary is surprisingly enticing, and the introductory material explains modern eating habits and makes the South Beach Diet highly sensible. Photos. (Oct.)

South Beach Diet Recipes To Keep You On Track

By Matt Murren

No matter what phase of the South Beach diet you are on, you will need tasty South Beach diet recipes to keep you on the road to weight loss success. The key to success is discipline. The easiest way to be disciplined is to have easy and affordable meals that adhere to the South Beach diet plan. In this article, we will cover recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

South Beach Breakfast Ideas

One of my personal favorites for breakfast are the low carb pancakes. If you have a problem letting the carbs go, these pancakes will fill you up and keep your diet on the right path.

Here’s how you make the Low Carb South Beach pancakes:

· 2 eggs

· 1 cup almond flour (Here’s the secret)

· ¼ cup of water

· 2 tablespoons of oil

· ¼ teaspoon of salt

· 1 T sweetener

Mix them together just like normal pancakes. The one difference you will notice is that they don’t bubble up like most pancakes do. Don’t forget the nonstick pan with light oil.

South Beach Diet Lunch Ideas

Lunch is always fun. Most people need something they can pack for the road. The one meal I have found easy to make and quite tasty is the BLT Wrap. Make sure you toss the bread and use the lettuce as the wrap.

BLT Wrap Ingredients:

· 3 slices of bacon, cook until crispy and chop

· 2 tablespoons of mayo (regular Is fine)

· ½ cup of raw chopped up tomatoes

· Black pepper or seasoning

· Green Lettuce

Mix everything up in a bowl with some pepper or other seasoning. I have tried it with cayenne and it wasn’t too bad. Take the mix and spoon it into the lettuce. Wrap it up and you have yourself a tasty BLT without the baggage.

Pepper Beef Tenderloin Ingredients:

· ½ tablespoon of minced garlic

· 2 tablespoons minced shallots

· ½ tablespoon of fresh minced rosemary

· 1 teaspoon of salt

· 1 tablespoon ground black pepper

The trick to this recipe is to preparing the onions and sauce just right. Bring the water to a boil and boil the onions for a few minutes, then drop them into cold water. Then, take a skillet and heat up the olive oil and throw the shallots in for a couple minutes. Before you throw the beef on the grill, take the olive oil and rub the beef down.

Now take the pepper, salt, rosemary, orange zest, and garlic, mix it together and put the mix on the tenderloin. Now you are ready to throw the meat on the BBQ. Make sure you preheat the BBQ and sear both sides keeping the juices in. Best served medium rare, or to your liking.

Lose Weight with the South Beach Diet

Rapid Weight Loss Tips - Lose Weight with the South Beach Diet

By Carrie Reeder

It's the American Dream: "If I could just lose a little bit of weight..." The problem for many Americans is that they fall quickly into the trends. They've tried it all: the workout videos, the "as seen on T.V." gadgets, the low-carb cookbooks, the three-day diet, celery, melons, and green tea. The problem for many is that without a serious change of lifestyle, “fads” is all there is. In reality, the only way to lose the weight and keep it off is to change your lifestyle.

The South Beach Diet is a unique way to not only jump start your weight loss program, but also develop healthy eating habits that will continue to help you lose weight, and most importantly, keep it off. The place that a lot of diets and programs fail is with the promise of fast weight loss. Most of these plans can deliver the results that their subscribers expect. The problem is that once they have seen the results that they want, they fall back into their old habits and the weight quickly returns.

With the South Beach Diet, there are three clear stages to help you build a healthy program, whether you are obese, or just a little bit overweight. During the first stage of your weight loss program, all carbohydrates are restricted. This stage lasts for only two weeks, after which (during stage two) restricted items are slowly introduced back into your diet. During the first stage of the South Beach Diet, you can expect to see a weight loss of about eight to fourteen pounds.

During the second stage you will continue to lose weight at a healthy rate of about two pounds a week. The final stage is called maintenance, and is not just a weight loss program, but a way of life.

With this transition into maintenance, you will have built a new lifestyle that will not only combat obesity, but will help you to maintain a healthy way of life. The South Beach Diet is not just a fad for those who are looking to lose ten pounds of water weight. Anyone can use the diet to build and maintain healthy weight loss goals, and keep off extra pounds. The South Beach Diet Cookbook

From Publishers Weekly

Cardiologist Agatston (The South Beach Diet) follows up his blockbuster book on weight-loss with this volume of more than 200 recipes, a number of which are culled from the kitchens of chefs in Miami Beach and other cities. Each recipe is designated as Phase 1, 2 or 3 to help readers discern the segment of the diet for which they are appropriate. Carbohydrates are off-limits during Phase 1, but "good carbs" (like whole grains) are gradually reintroduced in Phase 2. Phase 3 segues into a less restrictive but still healthy eating regimen. Among the Phase 1 recipes are the simple Reuben Wrap (which calls for cabbage leaves instead of bread; the author notes readers "will have to have a 'rye' sense of humor for this"), as well as more complex main dishes such as Coconut Chicken and Sage and Rosemary Pork. Phase 2 and 3 eaters will find delicious options such as Sesame Baked Chicken, Crab Royale and Couscous Salad. Noting that a variety of foods and recipes combats the repetition and boredom that are many dieters' downfall, Agatston presents a wide array of choices, with plenty of enticing fish and vegetarian dishes. He also includes breakfasts, snacks and desserts, as well as ideas for home entertaining "South Beach-style" with a focus on fresh veggies, fat-free dips, shrimp and nuts for appetizers, and main dishes of grilled tuna or flank steak. Agatston leaves no stone unturned, even providing shopping lists and recipes for homemade condiments that forgo sugars.

If I'm So Smart, Why Can't I Lose Weight

Why Can't I Lose Weight Easily?

By Patrick F Walsh

That's a question I often ask myself, and if you really want to learn how to lose weight easily, please continue to read.

Eat A Balanced Diet

People say, "Why can't I lose weight easily?", but even more importantly than that, you should ask how CAN I lose weight easily. For that question, I do have an answer. Less sugar and fewer sweets for starters. Watch the portion size on your meals. Try five to six smaller meals per day, as opposed to three big ones. This will keep your metabolism up high all day, making it easier for your body to burn fat. The idea is to burn up your daily calories, plus calories that are stored in your fat.

Detoxifying Your Body

Detoxifying your body could be the most important step in losing weight easily. Hydration is such an important factor, I suggest drinking lots and lots of water. Drinking water helps flush the toxins from your body. In addition, I highly recommend fiber supplements and body wraps as another way to relieve yourself from the harmful daily impurities you encounter.

Exercise : Daily!

If you want to lose weight easily, make daily exercise part of your lifestyle. Strive for thirty minutes of aerobic exercise per day. This could be a brisk walk, swimming , or a bike ride. Anything to get your heart pumping is good. In addition, I also recommend some weight lifting a couple times per week. Building muscle is important, because muscle helps burn fat.

Follow these instructions I've outlined for you, and you won't be asking yourself "Why cant I lose weight easily?" --ever again. Instead you'll be asking yourself "Why didn't I do it sooner?"! Now stop reading and start making yourself look great and feel even better.

By the #1 New York Times bestselling author Kevin Trudeau comes the last diet you will ever need. Imagine, you will lose at least 30 pounds in 30 days...with no hunger...no exercise...and no surgery!

An absolute cure for obesity was discovered almost fifty years ago by a British medical doctor. Tens of thousands of people used this simple, inexpensive, safe medical treatment and achieved miraculous, fast, and permanent weight loss. Stubborn area fat deposits melted away. Body reshaping of the hips, thighs, buttocks, and waist was so dramatic it appeared as if the patients received liposuction! Now, for the first time in fifty years, this revolutionary breakthrough discovery, which permanently cures the condition of obesity, is being released to the public.

The main problems that overweight people deal with are massive, intense, constant physical hunger; food cravings and uncontrollable urges to eat when not hungry; low metabolism; and an abnormally high amount of fat stored in stubborn secure problem areas such as the hips, thighs, buttocks, and waist. This "weight loss cure protocol" has been proven to be virtually 100% successful in correcting these conditions, thus curing the individual of obesity for life! The South Beach Diet - Does it Really Work?

By Denise Bergeron

The South Beach Diet is another popular lower-carbohydrate diet. It was created by Dr. Arthur Agatston, a cardiologist from Miami Beach, Florida. He felt like his patients needed a heart-healthy way to lose weight, and so he wrote his diet in the popular book, The South Beach Diet: The Delicious, Doctor-Designed Foolproof Plan for Fast and Healthy Weight Loss.

At first glance, the South Beach Diet looks surprisingly like the Atkins Diet. South Beach Dieters are not allowed to eat any carbohydrates for the two-week induction phase. They must only eat proteins for this period. Gradually, after induction is complete, they can reintroduce healthy carbohydrates into their diet, until they have reached a long-term diet that they maintain for a lifetime.

How is this different from the Atkins Diet? In the Atkins Diet, all fats are considered fine. The South Beach Diet bans unhealthy fats from its program. Also, instead of focusing on the number of grams of carbs consumed, the South Beach Diet focuses on the amount of sugar in the carbs that are consumed. This means that, after induction, more carbs are allowed than are allowed on the Atkins Diet.

On the South Beach Diet, you are allowed to eat when you are hungry. You are actually encouraged to eat small snacks throughout the day. You are supposed to eat until you are satisfied, and then stop. However, you will not able to eat foods that are rich in sugars, including corn and potatoes, which are not normally considered "banned" diet foods.

The first two weeks are the most difficult on this diet. Most people, especially Americans, are addicted to carbs. The induction phase removes all carbs from the diet, sending the body into a form of detox as it gets used to life without carbs. After surviving induction, the carb cravings are curbed, and most dieters are able to follow a healthy diet plan for the long term.

So does the diet work? Yes, it does, and because it focuses on healthy foods, it is a great diet to keep for the long term. You are allowed to eat all of the food groups on the South Beach Diet. You are simply taught how to do it in a healthy manner. Make sure you are willing to stay with the diet for the long term, however, as you will lose the benefits if you resume your normal eating habits.
