Diet Pills.

Are Diet Pills a Quick Fix?

While it is true that certain diet pills can be an effective supplement as part of a weight loss program, they are not something that should be used as a one step method in losing weight. Apart from this there are many diet pills which are completely ineffective and the only thing that you will lose will be the money that you will spend on buying them.

Many people are under the impression that they don't need to exercise or change their diet. They think that they can continue with their current lifestyles and just by taking a diet pill, they will miraculously reach their weight loss goals. This simply is not going to happen. The perception of the effectiveness of diet pills stems from two issues; the first and most important one is that nobody really wants to implement the lifestyle changes which are required to becoming healthier and lose weight. If they can pop a few pills a day, then that is going to be a lot easier than making large and lasting changes to their diets and starting a good exercise program.

The second issue is the way diet pills are marketed by the companies that produce them. The benefits of diet pills are clearly oversold. Why does this happen? It's simple, if the manufactures can provide you with what you want to hear then you will be persuaded to buy the diet pills. They make money and you lose money. Most people will believe almost anything if there is a slight hope that it may work and help them to lose weight, regardless if there is any common sense to it or not.

The thing to keep in mind is that hype and common sense do not go together. There are hundreds of diet pills on the market, with each manufacturer claiming that theirs is better than anybody else's. If diet pills are such a reliable source in achieving weight loss, then why do we have an alarmingly growing problem of obesity and other weight related problems?

Why can't everyone just take diet pills and get rid of all the weight that they want? Could it be that they don't work as well as manufactures would like you to think? Could it be that manufactures have other motives apart form your health and well being? Diet pills are not a solution for weight loss, some diet pills can be taking as part of a weight loss program, some diet pills have absolutely no benefits whatsoever, and there are some diet pills that can have severe and dangerous side effects.

The plain and simple fact that to lose weight you will have to control calories, change to a healthier diet, eat smaller meals more frequently, take up a cardio exercise programme, involve a weight lifting routine into your exercise program and try to increase activity in other areas of your life.

As you can see there are many factors involved in losing weight. It goes far beyond taking some diet pills for a few weeks and thinking that you are going to wake up one morning looking like a playboy model. As an intelligent human being you need to think to yourself, that if you have lived a lifestyle for a number of years that has increased your weight, and has led to other health problems, will taking a few diet pills on a daily basis sort out all your health issues. Losing weight safely and successfully will require time and effort. People who are always on the lookout for a quick fix are the ones that fail to lose weight. Now you tell me if diet pills are a quick fix?

What Can Diet Pills Do For You?

by IC

Diet pills have been known the most efficient and easy way to control the urges which lead us to gain weight, they can also help us get rid of excess fat in a more natural and controlled way without all of the nasty side effects of prescription drugs, lets take a look at all of the great things weight loss pills can do for you.

Best suited for people with busy life styles:

It is well known that in today's world people just don't have time to do the things they like or they want to do, in fact, this is one of the most popular excuses for almost everything so you have most likely used it at least once in the past moth. People are so busy trying to get their daily chores done that in the process we may even neglect our own health and because we just "don't have time" we start consuming unhealthy fast foods which are saturated with dangerous trans-fat. Diet pills are the perfect solution for those who want to keep their "busy" life style and still be able to keep themselves fit, all it really takes is a few seconds a day and you are done!

Painless weight loss:

People who have a few extra pounds have had (at least once) the thought of undergoing dangerous surgeries in order to have all of the excess fat extracted from their bodies, many times these procedures cause discomfort throughout the areas which have been treated, side effects as well as pain. With the help of diet pills you will loose those extra pounds without putting yourself under the bisturi, the process is of course slower but it will be a lot healthier since your metabolism will adjust in order to adapt to your new weight.

A cheap way to loose weight:

Compared to any other weight loss method, pills are often the best financial choice since most of the treatments are quite inexpensive compared to surgeries and liposuction. These last methods often range between $1500 to $8000+ depending on the area(s) you want to treat, while the average yearly cost of a diet pill treatment is about $300-350 dollars, as you see by these numbers diet pills make sense.

As the see the diet pills can do a lot more for you than any other weight loss method you might be considering, they are easy to use and normally require no extensive planning before starting the treatment and can be taken according to your schedule.

Weightloss-Drugstore.info offers more information on diet pills as well as weight loss pills and products which are safe and well known by many consumers who use this convenient weight loss method.

Weight Control

Weighing in on weight control

Copyright © 2008 At Peace With Food

Have you ever tried to lose weight? I'm guessing that the answer is probably yes. Most of us, at some time, have looked at diet books, diet pills, potions, anything we could find to get rid of unwanted pounds.

My question is not "did any of these methods work, long term?" because I am pretty sure the answer is "no." My question is "how often did you weigh yourself, and did it help?" I suppose if you are currently trying to lose weight, you can simply change the "did" to "do and does."

You should know that I once weighed about 25 pounds more than I do today. I have been on many different diets, and, for me, none of them worked. Well, they did work, while I was on them. But once I stopped the diet, the weight came right back. While I don't exactly remember all the diets I've been on, I do remember the scales I've been weighed on-both my own, and at the group meetings I used to attend.

And when I belonged to group programs, I remember I wouldn't eat the day of the meeting, because we had to weigh in. Then, after the meeting I would go out and eat. I'm afraid I wasn't a very good groupie.

Let me tell you about my experience with owning a scale. I have a professional scale-you know, the one with the weights, the big one that you move every 50 pounds, and then the smaller one for the individual pound. Many years ago I conducted my first weight control group out of my living room in State College, PA. I guess I bought a good one, because it still works.

Over the years, I have found that weighing myself doesn't really help me with controlling my eating. I used to weigh myself all the time. I'd weigh myself at the beginning of the day, and then at the end of the day. Eventually I learned that the numbers on the scale weren't always very helpful. Of course I weighed more at the end of the day, but it wasn't from gaining fat-it was simply the weight of the food and drinks I hadn't digested.

As I "evolved" my weight control programs, I would only weigh myself every few days. But even that didn't help me. See, if I found I had gained weight, I would be depressed, and I would eat more. Conversely, if I saw I had lost weight, I would be very excited, thinking, "If I did this before, I can do it again." Guess what I would do? Yes, I would eat. So, for me, weighing myself every few days was no help at all!

Each person finds his or her own weight strategies, for better or for worse. I think, for me, the best thing is to just not weigh myself at all, or perhaps maybe once every few weeks. The reality is, I know when I have overeaten. Luckily for me, I don't punish myself, and I try to just move forward. I have learned to balance my overeating with periods of eating less-and according to my doctors' scale; my weight has stayed the same for the last 10 years (plus or minus a pound or two).

If you are a person who weighs yourself all the time, try giving yourself a week off-you know you deserve it. Pay attention to how you are feeling, emotionally. Hopefully, giving yourself this week off will be a liberating experience. Perhaps you will learn something about your behaviors, and realize that if you aren't a slave to the scale, you don't have to be a slave to your diet.

If you can learn to trust yourself not to rely on a single number, you will be able to learn to trust yourself to make healthy choices for yourself. Perhaps…over time.. you may discover a way to lose weight-a whole new way.

The Thyroid And Weight Control

by: George Best

Thyroid hormone is probably the single strongest stimulator of the metabolism, and therefore sluggish thyroid function is almost always associated with stubborn weight problems. Although decreased thyroid function can be due to problems with the thyroid gland itself, in many cases other factors are actually to blame. Let's examine the whole thyroid hormone system so that you can better understand where things can go wrong and how thyroid function can often be improved with lifestyle changes.

The stimulation of metabolism actually begins in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus - the master hormone controller. The hypothalmus senses the need for more or less thyroid hormone production and when more is needed, it signals the pituitary gland to produce a hormone called TSH (you may have seen this hormone listed on a blood test for thyroid function). Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) does what it's name suggests - it stimulates the thyroid gland to produce the inactive T4 hormone. When the inactive T4 hormone levels increase, it is taken up by the liver and converted to the active form of thyroid hormone, known as T3. The T3 hormone then acts on receptor sites on the cells of the body and causes the cells to produce more mitochondria, which can be thought of a microscopic power plants inside the cells. The mitochondria create energy for the cells (which when combined from millions of cells creates energy for the body as a whole) by burning stored sugar and fat.

When something goes wrong in the thyroid system, the body does not burn fat and sugar as much, so there is a tendency for weight gain. Since energy production is down, fatigue often sets in. And because there is not sufficient energy for certain cellular functions, healing and tissue regeneration may be depressed - this is most commonly noticed as hair loss and brittle nails.

There are several possible reasons why the thyroid system might not work as well as it should. First, there may not be sufficient stimulation of the body to cause the hypothalamus to start the process. The primary stimulator of the thyroid system is exercise - primarily short bursts of intense exercise. In other words, for healthy thyroid function, it is more effective to do interval training in which you do repetetive bursts of intense activity with rest in between, than it is to do long periods of low-intensity exercise, but any form of exercise is helpful.

Another possible problem is that the thyroid gland itself might be damaged, either by infection, or possibly by radiation exposure (either accidental exposure or intentional radiation of the thyroid for cancer treatment). In the case of actual thyroid damage, some type of thyroid medication will usually be necessary to compensate.

Yet another possible problem in the thyroid system is poor conversion of the inactive T4 hormone to the active T3 hormone by the liver. This typically occurs with poor lifestyle - excessive alcohol and/or drug use, and/or bad diet (especially a diet high in fats and animal proteins). The functioning of the liver can usually be greatly enhanced through dietary approaches, and improved liver function will translate to more efficient activation of thyroid hormone.

The active T3 hormone can actually be blocked at the receptor sites on the body's cells and cannot send the signal for the cells to build additional mitochondria, and metabolism becomes sluggish. This is a common side-effect of estrogen and estrogen-like chemicals. The most common sources of estrogen interference with thyroid hormone are birth control medications and estrogen replacement therapy. If you have experienced weight gain and other thyroid-related symptoms since starting on birth control or hormone replacement, you may wish to consult with your physician about other options.

Finally, the formation of mitochondria can be interfered with by the presence of certain chemicals. Sodium benzoate, a preservative found in many processed foods and beverages (especially soft-drinks) can damage the genetic material within the cells needed for mitochondrial formation. Here again, cleaning up the diet can be very beneficial to overall thyroid hormone function and the ultimate goal of weight control.

To sum things up, there are steps you can take to maximize the metabolism-stimulating effects of the thyroid. First, regular exercise is important, and interval-training is the most effective for thyroid stimulation. Next, avoid excessive alcohol consumption, avoid drugs and medications except for those that are absolutely necessary, and keep fat and protein intake to a moderate level so as not to overwork the liver. In addition, you may wish to consult with your doctor if you are using any kind of birth control or hormone replacement medication containing estrogen. Finally, avoid the preservative sodium benzoate in order to avoid interfering with the production of your cellular "power plants", the mitochondria. In most cases these steps will gradually normalize thyroid hormone function and you will find that weight control becomes much easier. In a few cases, medical treatment for thyroid damage may be needed, but simple lifestyle changes are often the most effective means of improving metabolism.

Exercise and Weight Control

by: John Riverside

Regular physical activity is an important part of effective weight loss and weight maintenance. It can also help prevent several diseases and improve your overall health. It does not matter what type of physical activity you perform sports, planned exercise, household chores, garden work, or work-related tasks all are beneficial. Studies show that even the most inactive people can gain significant health benefits if they perform 30 minutes or more of physical activity per day.

Research has consistently shown that regular physical activity, combined with healthy eating habits, is the most efficient and healthy way to control your weight. Whether you are trying to lose weight or maintain it, you should understand the important role of physical activity and include it in your lifestyle.

Just about everybody seems to be interested in weight control. Some of us weigh just the right amount; others need to gain a few pounds. Most of us "battle the bulge" at some time or the other in our life. Whatever our goals, we should understand and take advantage of the important role exercise plays in keeping our weight under control.

Carrying too much body fat is a major nuisance. Yet excess body fat is common in modem-day living. Few of today's occupations require vigorous physical activity, and much of our leisure time is spent in sedentary pursuits.

Physical activity helps control your weight by using excess calories that otherwise would be stored as fat. The number of calories you eat and use each day regulates your body weight. Everything you eat contains 'calories, and. everything you do uses calories, including sleeping, breathing, and digesting food. Any physical activity in addition to what you normally do will use extra calories.

Balancing the calories you use through physical activity with the calories you eat will help you achieve the desired weight. When you eat more calories than you need to perform the day's activities, your body stores the extra calories and you gain weight.

There are three types of activities you need to do to keep your body healthy: endurance activities, flexibility activities, and strength activities. Do a variety from each group to get the most health benefits. This book offers you a range of activities to choose from.

Excess body fat has been linked to such health problems like coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, diabetes, arthritis and certain forms of cancer. Some evidence now exists showing that obesity has a negative effect on both health and longevity.

Successful weight loss goes hand in hand with regular exercise. Being active doesn't have to mean a daily trip to the gym or running a marathon - everyday activities like gardening, walking to the market and even having sex all count as a form of exercise!

Exercise is associated with the loss of body fat in both obese and normal weight persons. A regular programme of exercise is an important component of any plan to help individuals lose, gain or maintain their weight.

Losing weight, gaining weight or maintaining your weight depends on the amount of calories you take in and use up during the day, otherwise referred to as energy balance. Learning how to balance energy intake (calories in food) with energy output (calories expended through physical activity) will help you achieve your desired weight.

Although the underlying causes and the treatments of obesity are complex, the concept of energy balance is relatively simple. If you eat more calories than your body needs to perform your day's activities, the extra calories are stored as fat: If you do not take in enough calories to meet your body's energy needs, your body will go to the stored fat to make up the difference. Exercise helps ensure that stored fat, rather than muscle tissue, is used to meet your energy needs.

On the average, a person consumes between 800,000 and 900,000 calories each year! An active person needs more calories than a sedentary person, as physically active people require energy above and beyond the day's basic needs. All too often, people who want to lose weight concentrate on counting calorie intake while neglecting calorie output!

The energy costs of activities that require you to move your own body weight, such as walking or jogging, are greater for heavier people since they have more weight to move.

Be Realistic

While using a gym is a fantastic way to lose weight, so many people enter a gym with unrealistic expectations. The reasoning often runs like this: go to the gym, and train two hours every single day, then watch as muscle builds and fat melts away. The assumption is that intense fitness training will lead to fast weight loss as calories are burned like crazy.

Well, maybe - but most of us aren't used to intensive fitness training. Trying to do too much too soon leaves us exhausted, full of aches and lacking in motivation. The fast weight loss we dreamed of doesn't materialize, and we stop going to the gym. In doing so, we forfeit any exercise-related weight loss and other health benefits.

Another point to note if you go to the gym to lose weight: throw out your scales! You'll be burning fat, sure, but also building muscle. Muscle weighs far more than fat, so though you might be in better shape, you may actually gain weight over the first few months! Ditch the scales in favor of a measuring tape to chart your progress.

Exercises can be of different kinds and different regimens (one should be careful in choosing the exercise regimen) and, except for a few, they must be carried out under the guidance of an expert.

Metabolism and Weight Control

Middle Aged Metabolism and Weight Control

Copyright © 2008 At Peace With Food

As I was lying on the ground the other day, having slipped on the ice while walking our beloved pet, I was wondering yet again about this whole "new middle age" idea. I was lying there thinking "if I was in my 30's, would I really be thinking about calling my husband and asking him to pick me up, because my back hurt? Or would I simply get my 30+ year old body up and keep walking?"

What I finally did was pick up my 50+ year old body and kept walking, but it was at a much slower pace.

This whole idea of my 50's being more like being in my 30's intrigues me. In a number of ways, many of us 50-ish folks are healthier that than our parents were at our age. Our access to health care, for many of us, is much better, so medically we can take better care of ourselves. The concept of "personal trainer" was unheard of twenty-five years ago, as was the idea of belonging to a gym. Making time for a daily walk wasn't even on the agenda for many people.

We are lucky, though, because so many of us are able to include these benefits into our lives, allowing us to be a much healthier generation.

However, some things haven't changed. As we age, our metabolism still slows down, which is why we tend to gain weight as we age. Metabolism refers to the rate at which the body burns calories. There are many factors affecting what is called our "metabolic rate," including height (tall people burn more calories than short folks), fasting (that's why skipping meals is not a good way to lose weight-your metabolism slows down) and temperature. In colder temperatures, our bodies need to burn more calories to stay warm. I suppose one way to lose weight would be to run around naked in the cold. However, I'm not sure how long this "diet" would last before your neighbors call the police.

The point is that we cannot control many of the factors affecting our metabolic rate, including age (young, middle or old).

The light at the end of the tunnel, though, is activity. When you are active, you're body can build muscle. Muscle is referred to as a more metabolically active tissue because it takes more calories to maintain muscle than to maintain fat. Fat is a lazy tissue, and can get along without any help on our part. But muscle? There's a different story. Muscles use more calories to do their job, so the more muscles you build, the more calories your body uses. And that's why, as we age, we need to stay active. We need to build our muscles, and maintain them to keep weight off. Walking is one important activity I rely on to keep my metabolism up. Others enjoy lifting weights. As long as you have worked with an experienced trainer making sure you don't injure yourself, increased muscle mass is definitely a benefit of this activity. Activity keeps your metabolic rate high, increasing the calories you burn, and helping prevent that fat tissue from growing.

So whether you are lying on the ice wondering how to get up, or stuck in a couch wondering how to get out, think about staying active. It's the activity that will make moving around (and preventing weight gain) a lot easier-at any age.

Why You Need To Boost Metabolism For Better Weight Loss Result?

Weight loss occurs when the body can burn off more calories in a day than it consumes. This is affected by two factors: how much a person consumes in a day, and how active the metabolism is at breaking down and burning off calories.

For this reason, it is obvious how important it is to boost the metabolism and keep it running at a healthy, efficient level so that you can help your own body to burn off as many calories as possible and result in the highest maximum weight loss attainable in a healthy manner.

In order to better understand how this occurs, one must first understand how the metabolism works. The metabolism breaks down food and nutrients to be used by the body. When not eating, whether you are exercising, sleeping, or even being lazy, the metabolism is still working and burning off whatever is available, whether it be recently consumed food or stored fat, in order to keep the body running.

Quite obviously, a more active metabolism, spurned by exercise and healthy eating, will result in more fat being burned throughout the day in order to keep the body running smoothly which will result in healthy weight loss in the long run.

Many believe that herbs or fat loss pills are the key to burning fat, but this simply isnt the truth. In most cases, these alternatives will result in only minimal results and can be damaging to the body when abused. These methods are seen as easy-outs, but when burning fat is issue, there is no such thing as an easy-out.

Studies have proven that there is really only one way to lose weight in a healthy way, and that involves the lengthy experience of having to pay attention to your diet (try to consume fewer calories and eat foods that boost the metabolism), drink more water (water keeps the body healthy and clean and also helps to keep the metabolism working at a smooth rate), and exercise daily in order to both burn off calories that way and to keep the heart pumping, which will result in both a boosted metabolism and healthier blood levels.

These factors combine to clearly show why boosting the metabolism is such a proven weight loss method. Time and time again it has been shown that boosting metabolism, combined with a healthy diet, will result in weight loss simply due to the fact that the metabolism will constantly be working behind the scenes and will constantly be burning off excess fat in order to keep the body working smoothly. Therefore, boosting your metabolism will result in both a better looking as well as a healthier body.

Now the challenge is how to boost metabolism?

Nutrition is one of the key factors in maintaining a healthy metabolism rate, along with hydration and physical activity. Simply put, no matter how much exercising you do, if you arent eating right then you arent going to see results. At the same time, eating right doesnt just mean watching your calories.

Certain foods are known for keeping the metabolism working at a high level. Complex carbohydrates and fiber, for instance, which can be found in oatmeal, whole grain cereal, and milk every morning at breakfast, are known for keeping insulin levels low after eating.

Exercise plays a major role in boosting the metabolism and being able to burn of calories and undesired fat. There are quite a few suggestions for what exercises to focus on, how often to exercise, and when to exercise. In many cases, just doing anything is helpful but doing the right exercises will help to maximize a boosted metabolism.

Should you take diet supplements?

When dieting and eating the right metabolism boosting foods isnt doing the job fully, there are plenty of healthy metabolism boosting supplements that can be sought out. It is important to pay close attention when looking for supplements, however, as many common diet pills and miracle pills will simply never work.

Much of what is advertised is completely falsified and it is important not to buy into these quick fixes. Rather, it can be both very helpful and healthy to find certain supplements which will help to boost the metabolism and increase the amount of calories burned each day naturally.

There are few supplements seems to be effective in boosting metabolism; for example Xerisan ASA diet pill. According to some source Xerisan ASA is one of the most effective and natural metabolism boosting pills though it looks expensive.

My conclusion?

Do your homework before you decide to buy any pills.

Diet Sabotage and Diet To Lose Weight These Days

Diet Sabotage - it's far too common these days. If you find yourself asking - Why can't I lose weight. - chances are you may be suffering from one of these common diet sabotage traps: 1) Embarrassment - Admitting that you're trying to lose weight is an embarrassing thing for many people. Why Can't I Lose Weight? 3 Common Diet Sabotage Traps

By Vienna Miller

Diet Sabotage - it's far too common these days. If you find yourself asking - Why can't I lose weight? - chances are you may be suffering from one of these common diet sabotage traps:

1) Embarrassment - Admitting that you're trying to lose weight is an embarrassing thing for many people. They feel too ashamed to go to the gym or walk into a well-known weight loss clinics.

In our society, it seems like being heavy is a cardinal sin. If you're not stick thin, there's something wrong with you. Ridiculous. People who are overweight are not lazy nor do they lack self control - however the odds are stacked against them. Huge portion sizes, high stress lives, jobs where you sit for hours, and food advertising shoved in your face 24-7. It's a wonder everyone isn't overweight.

Being overweight is nothing to be ashamed over. However if you are embarrassed to lose weight in front of others, don't let that stop you from slimming down. Lots of people lose weight without joining a gym or seeing a weight loss counsellor. Many people do it in the comfort of their own homes. They either start a diet plan quietly on their own or order from a diet meal delivery service. Some even buy their own fitness equipment and work out behind closed doors.

Remember, there's nothing to be embarrassed about when you're losing weight. You should be commended for trying to change for the better. But if you do feel more comfortable keeping it under wraps, you should. You have lots of options that let you lose weight in the comfort of your own home. Just don't allow embarrassment to be a diet sabotage and stop you from reaching your goal.

2) Lack of Time - One of the best things I ever heard a nutritionist say is that losing weight takes extra time and energy. Seems simple, yet no one does it. Lack of time is probably the number one diet sabotage for most people. In order to lose weight, you should be prepared to set aside some of your time and energy (especially at the beginning) to focus on this goal.

Any life change requires extra energy and time. When we're making other life changes like moving or having a baby, we expect this and we cut back accordingly on other things to make room for this change to our lives.

However most people don't apply this to dieting. They think they should be able to lose weight on the side as they go about their busy lives. Then they beat themselves up when they don't get the results they want.

If you're serious about losing weight, be prepared to set aside some time and energy for this task - whether that's cancelling an appointment so you can exercise, or getting up a bit earlier so you can prepare a day of healthy meals. Whatever it is, you can reap amazing results when you set aside extra time and energy to achieve the body you want.

3) Wishing Vs Planning - This is a huge diet sabotager that no one talks about. Most of us who want to lose weight have spent a lot of time wishing we were thinner. We go about the day hoping that extra piece of cake won't show up on our hips or that the salad we ate for lunch will magically help us lose 5 pounds by Saturday.

While there's nothing wrong with wishing, there is a big difference in wishing vs planning. Wishing means you just hope you lose weight - you might even make some half-hearted efforts to cut back on portions or eat a salad or two.

Planning means you make a commitment. You decide that you're going to make a change in your eating habits in order to achieve your goal - no 'ifs', 'ands', or 'buts'. Committing to lose weight means taking action. Wishing means you do nothing but still hope it will happen 'someday'.

Losing weight is not rocket science and most people of average health can do it. However, like any goal, you have to commit to it and work every day to achieve it. This is one of the biggest obstacles to losing weight.

Most people don't realize that there's a difference between wishing and planning or committing. If you're truly committed you will take the necessary steps day by day to achieve your goal. You may not lose weight overnight but you will lose weight over the long term. And in the process, you will have built up valuable skills that you'll need to keep you slim once you do achieve your goal.

So there they are - the 3 most common diet sabotagers. Ask yourself if any of these obstacles are hindering you from losing weight. If they are, address them and move on. You can lose weight when you decide that nothing is going to stop you from living your dreams.

Lot Of People Diet To Lose Weight These Days

by: glenn@isnare.com

When we chose to change our eating habits, we usually diet to lose weight. Sometimes we may have health issues, such as high cholesterol, which is what leads us to eat healthier.

Often times we diet to lose weight because as we are overweight and realize that our eating habits may have gotten in this predicament to begin with.

It is possible to just exercise and lose weight, but sooner or later the person will not lose any more weight without changing eating habits as well. Most of the time it is the other way around; people diet, that is they count carbohydrates, fat grams, or calories, somehow limiting their food intake to reach weight loss goals.

Even though every source you read on diet to lose weight encourages combining the diet plan with exercise, not everyone does this right away. Of course, it is ideal to diet and exercise from the beginning of a diet plan, some people may feel overwhelmed by taking on too much change at once, if exercise has not been a part of their life.

There are quite a few online support sites to visit, that have a multitude of information for anyone looking to diet to lose weight. Some diets work better for some than others, for instance, the Atkins diet required quite a drastic cut in carbohydrates, which may not be an appropriate diet to lose weight for everyone.

The South Beach Diet is a popular diet to lose weight because it allows dieters to eat many of the foods they eat anyway and is not quite as restrictive as others. There are also weight loss systems such as Jenny Craig, the LA Weight Loss Center, or Curves for Women.

All of these programs are great and offer a good deal of support for anyone who wants to diet to lose weight. Exercise is encouraged, and for the Curves for Women plan, it is the central part of the program.

When you do decide to diet to lose weight, be sure you visit with your healthcare provider first before beginning your program, especially if you have quite a bit of weight to lose, or if you have health issues that may be of concern. Exercise should not be contraindicated for anyone and can be tailored for each individual dieters specific needs.

You diet to lose weight, but you must also incorporate exercise into your plan. You will gain greater health, and also be able to maintain your diet and fitness goals.

Exercise, Good Nutrition, Supplementation = Fat Loss

Copyright © 2008 Charles Carter

We know here at LIVE that exercise is the most effective method for instantly boosting metabolism. When weight loss is desired, combining exercise, proper diet and use of appropriate supplements naturally leads to maximum metabolic efficiency and the greatestg chance of results.

Both are absolutely essential. Effective diet which can include supplement intake should be your No. 1 priority. Here's why: Both your ability to exercise and your exercise results will naturally accelerate in the presence of proper nutrition. We tell the people that we are wokring with the 75% of your success will come from the nutrition side. Without proper diet, you won't be able to effectively access energy stores, nor will you be able replace nutrients lost during exercise. When that happens, metabolism declines. We have wonderful fat loss aids here at LIVE, like Yellow Subs, and we want you to take them when you are giving your body the best opportunity for results!

We deal with a lot of people who go to the gym almost religiously. Often, they spend hours working out, and still, over the course of months, they show little or no progress. Every day, they are there huffing and puffing - but they're still overweight in spite of their efforts. We also know people who work out far less and make amazing progress, and still others who maintain a healthy, lean look without even trying. Again, it can come down to the effective use of good diet with that exercise and the use of supplements that ensure the optimal delivery of nutrients for the goal, like Leukic by Muscletech.

Naturally, genetics are a key factor. But so is metabolism, and metabolism is inherently dependent on how you treat your body. If you attempt to exercise intensively without supporting your body's nutritional needs, you won't get very far.

Rest and relaxation, too, are every bit as important as action. Remember that under chronic stress or exhaustion, your body's nervous system (and thus your metabolism) suffers. Avoid compulsively long daily exercise routines. Instead, vary your workouts, including short, intense training sessions in the mix.

Many popular health gurus recommend moderate exercise, such as walking or gardening, as the best solution. Their reasoning is that moderate exercise puts less pressure on the body and the heart. Certainly, gentle exercise is good for you, and it results in less oxidation and fewer free radicals than intensive exercise, but it also limits the challenges you can approach and the level of fitness you can achieve.

I believe the best way to exercise is by providing your body with intense stimuli to which it will naturally adapt. Our body has the wisdom to adjust to physical strain by getting stronger and tougher. Through this adaptative process, the body improves it's own metabolic state.

Intense and short exercise intervals are also effective in pumping blood and oxygen to the entire body. Maximum oxygenation helps rejuvenate all body tissues and, again, this helps boost overall metabolism. A great Supplement that we sell that is perfect to help with short, intense bursts of energy is Cold fusion EX by LG Sciences.

If you haven't been exercising regularly and strenuously, don't try to force yourself to exercise with maximum intensity straight out of the gate. Instead, follow a constructive exercise routine in which you gradually increase intensity over a period of weeks or months. This is where the use of an online personal trainer comes into play.

Nourish your body, exercise intensely and get enough rest, and you can quickly reach a state of maximum metabolic efficiency. In this state, your body will efficiently burn body fat as fuel. Its base level of energy utilization will accelerate, and gradually, this will cause your body to naturally redesign itself.

When you reach maximum metabolic efficiency, you are literally re-creating yourself - at a cellular level - on an ongoing basis. Just because you weren't born with a super-fast metabolism doesn't mean you can't possess one. And just because you are carting around extra fat right now doesn't mean you have to keep it forever.

If you want to live in a young, vigorous, lean body, just give your body what it needs in order to reach a peak metabolic state: Eat well, exercise intensely, get enough rest. Most importantly, get to know your body from the inside out. Enjoy its power, respect its complexity, and it will repay you richly.

Why Weight Loss Resolutions Don't Work

If you're like many people out there, you've promised yourself to do something different this year. Probably to drop a few pounds by eating better, exercising more and living a healthier lifestyle.

And if you're like a good number of people who made themselves a promise, you may have already broken it - you may not have made it a week or through the month of January.

Even if you have stayed faithful to your promise so far, chances are all your good intentions will go out the window before you live up to your resolution...

That's why I don't make resolutions any more.

I set goals instead.

Here's the difference:

Resolutions usually don't work. Goals do.

Here's why:

Resolutions aren't specific enough. They also tend to be absolute and rigid.

Resolutions tend to sound like this:

I will eat better this year.

Sounds like a great idea, doesn't it? But, what does "better" mean? If you eat one less Cheeto or French fry over 365 days, have you stuck to your resolution? I don't think so. And, if you count that as success, you're just cheating yourself.

So, you've failed. Because "eating better in 2008" means to be perfect for the whole year. Hey, the first time a slice of pizza or piece of candy passes your lips - your resolution is a goner - better luck next year.

Goals, on the other hand, when written (note that term!) the right way are specific and have a specific time attached to them. That's what makes them powerful.

A goal might look like this:

I will weigh 175 by March 1, 2008.

Now you have a measurable goal and a time frame in which to do it.

But, here's the real magic in goals. If you don't reach that weight by that date... no problem. Simply extend the date (and you don't have to wait all the way until the next January one).

Will you have failed if you get down to your goal weight by April 1st instead? Or May? Or June? I think not.

And what if you only make 176 by the first of March? Is that so bad? I'll bet you made a lot more progress than you would have without goals...

Most times, resolutions set you up to fail because they require you to be perfect.

Goals set you up for success because they are fluid and flexible - they allow you to be human while still moving forward - as long as you keep the target in your sights.

If you've set resolutions already - change them to goals.

If you haven't set anything yet... well, you get the picture.

Heed this advice and have your best year ever. Ignore it and you'll watch another year pass you by without getting where you want to go.

Lose 10 Pounds In A Week

By A.J. Lisandro

Do you have a reunion to attend in a few weeks or even a week? Are you gearing up for spring break or summer and want to shed some weight before you hit the beach or the pool? Want to lose 10 pounds in a week? What ever your reason is I am here to tell you that it is possible and the great thing is you will not have to starve yourself.

The plain and simple fact of the matter is, if you plan on losing weight then you just need to burn more calories than you take in. However, there are other little tips and tricks that I have that will help you burn more fat off and hopefully help you to drop off that excess weight so you can fit into that bathing suit, dress or for the guys – those new slacks.

The first thing that you should start doing is drinking more water. You will notice a huge difference if the majority of fluids you drink is soda or coffee. Your body is very smart, so if you are not drinking a lot of water it will retain water, hence that bloated feeling you get and that extra layer of water weight around your waistline. Get ample water and make sure you are not carrying that excess water weight with you. Keeping hydrated is also a key factor if you intend on exercising to lose weight.

Eat smaller more frequent meals to shoot your metabolism through the roof. Much like your body retaining water if it is not getting enough of it, your body’s metabolism will go into conservation mode if you are only eating a few large meals a day. Are you always rushing out of the house in the morning and skipping breakfast? Are you only eating a large lunch and dinner? If you are, my guess is you have trouble losing weight. The reason is because your body slows your metabolism down because it knows you are only eating twice a day. Eating five to six smaller meals a day will have the exact opposite effect and will have you burning fat faster.

Pump up your cardio work. How do you do this? By making small changes in your daily routine. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park in a stall further away and get the extra walking in, go for a walk on your lunch break. Also, get some time in the morning or afternoon for 20-30 minutes of cardio work. Whether that be walking, jogging, running or biking, make sure to get yourself going and burning extra calories. Working out in the morning on an empty stomach also has a great effect, as it burns fat faster.

Following these three tips will give you the best chance at losing weight as quickly as possible. If you want to lose 10 pounds in a week, just be smart about it and do not sacrifice your health by going on a crash diet or popping fat burners for the sake of vanity. Take the right steps and you will be slipping into that new dress or slacks in no time!

Do Not Make These Mistakes If You Want To Lose Weight Successfully

by Cheow Yu Yuan
A lot of people wonder why they do not manage to lose those fats on their stomach although they have put in tremendous effort to do so. This is because to lose weight effectively, you will need to set smaller and achievable targets in your weight loss plan.
If you set your target too high, you will tend to remorse on losing weight fast, and in the end turn up that you cannot even lose a single pound. If you want to look slimmer, you need to follow a step by step plan and have the discipline to stick to it.
Now, let us discuss some of things that you should not do if you want to lose weight effectively:
1. Do not skip meals
A good diet plan should not encourage you to skip meal. By skipping meal, your body will tend to conserve more fats so as to store energy. This will result in accumulating more fats rather than burning them.
By skipping meals and stay hungry, it may even cause some serious health problems especially for those who are diagnosed with diabetes.
2. Dieting without exercising, or vice versa
An effective weight loss program will always include healthy dieting and regular exercising. Exercise is essential to keep the body fit and healthy, as it regulates blood circulation and other activities of the human body system.
Therefore, weight loss program without exercising is not effective at all. It will be better to go hand-in-hand with a good diet plan.
3. Eliminate procrastination
Procrastination always denies a person from achieving his or her personal goals. By delaying your plan to lose weight, you will not be able to reach anywhere.
Always stick to the weight loss timetable that you have set for yourself. One trick to keep yourself motivated and take action is to always imagine what it will be like if you are slimmer.
The effect will be even better if you are slim in the past. Dig out past photos of the slimmer you and place it somewhere prominent. Whenever you feel like procrastinating not to exercise or eat well, look at the photo. It should drive you to take action immediately.
Stick to your plan and start losing weight now.
Bear these 3 points in mind and have the discipline to stick to your correct plan. Although you may not see the result immediately, but i am pretty sure that as long as you stick to your plan, sooner or later you will reap the seed that you have sow.

The Hottest Diets Pills On The Internet

 by Timothy Russell

Although there are hundreds of choices for weight-loss pills, the proof is in the sales. More sales of diet pills are made on eBay than anywhere else.

Some of the hottest weight-loss pills on eBay are Lipovox, Ephedrasil and Colivex. How they help you lose weight is accomplished with very different styles, so do your research first before you purchase. There are also a number of natural remedies on available. Be an educated consumer of weight loss products.

Lipovox
This new pill promises the combination of "10 superfoods in one pill." With this combination of superfoods the company says you will experience 400% more weight loss than with diet and exercise alone. This product also claims it will cure your acne with the addition of Lipovox to your diet. The ingredients that make up Lipovox are:

Brazilian Acai: Harvested in the rainforests of Brazil, acai is packed full of antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty acids. Acai contains a remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help cardio and vascular health.

Cayenne Pepper Fruit: Cayenne pepper is high in antioxidant carotene and contains twice the amount of Vitamin C found in citrus. Cayenne pepper is great for turning up your metabolic rate.

Garlic: Garlic has been scientifically proven to reduce the total cholesterol (but raises HDL--"good"--cholesterol). Garlic helps the body fight natural toxins and blood disease.

Soybeans Isoflavones: Genistein, daidzein, and glycitein are the major isoflavones found in soybeans and offer the most numerous health benefits. They are used primarily for "Smart Carb" diets because they rank low on the glycemic scale.

Barley: Also used in all low-glycemic diets and is high in both soluble and insoluble fiber, barley has a large concentration of tocotrienols, the "super" form of Vitamin E.

Wheatgrass: The health benefits of this superfood have been documented over and over. Wheatgrass was sold in the early 1900s as one of the first pill vitamins.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus: The active ingredient in most yoghurts is a healthy bacteria needed for good digestion.

Alfalfa Sprouts: Alfalfa sprouts are a concentrated source of living enzymes. The alfalfa bean from which these sprouts come is much harder to digest, making this the preferred delivery source.

Flaxseed: Control your hunger and reduce the signs of aging by eating plenty of nuts. Flaxseed nuts are especially beneficial because of their high concentration fatty acid profile and concentrated supply of lignans.

Buckwheat: Buckwheat is very low on the glycemic scale and is vital in stabilizing the bloods sugar concentration after meals. This is a key factor in controlling obesity and diabetes.

You can find Lipovox on the Internet.

Ephedrasil
This product makes some very interesting marketing claims. The one that bothers us the most is "magical weight loss." There is nothing magical about the sales, though, this is one of the hottest pills on the Internet. This product is loaded with caffeine, so much that the label warns you not to take more than 6 pills per day. The ingredients that make up Ephedrasil include:

Green Tea (40% caffeine): Rather than say "caffeine" here, we have green tea. Chemically there is no difference--be careful with taking too much of this.

L-tyrosine: L-tyrosine is a protein amino acid. It is classified as a conditionally essential amino acid. Under most circumstances, the body can synthesize sufficient L-tyrosine to meet its demands.

Taurine: It occurs in the body as a free molecule and is not in muscle proteins. The taurine molecule is water soluble and thus doesn't easily cross the mostly fatty membranes of the body's cells but it is present in all membranes.

Glucurnolactone: Glucuronolactone is a popular ingredient in most caffeinated energy drinks. Glucuronolactone is included because it fights fatigue and provide a sense of well-being.

Metabromine: Not much is known about this trademarked ingredient commonly thought of as a stimulant. It is derived from the cocoa tree nut.

Phenylalanine: This is another essential amino acid that is necessary for the production of L-tyrosine. Common stimulant effects are associated with this acid.

Valerian root: Valerian has been used as a sleep aid for hundreds years. Its ability to help relax the central nervous system is universally accepted.

Passion flower: This plant is very similar to the Valerian root in its expected effect.

St. Johns Wort: Also known as goat weed, this plant used by some for depression, anxiety, and/or sleep disorders.

5-Htp: The manufacturer claims that 5-Htp is an amino acid that is the intermediate step between tryptophan and the important brain chemical serotonin. They also claim this is the key step in correcting hunger pangs.

Citrus Aurantium: This plant's claim to fame is synephrine. This ingredient is chemically very similar to the ephedrine and pseudo-ephedrine found in many OTC cold/allergy medications and in a number of weight loss and energy supplements which contain Ma Huang.

Colivex
This product is distributed through the typical internet product-bidding warehouses. Xta Labs is the supposed marketer of the Colivex. However, the minimal little information that can be obtained on the websites about the does not engender confidence in the supplement. A company using pictures of headless torsos clad in g-strings and Speedos to advertise what amounts to a laxative just doesn't come across all that reputable.

The listed ingedients are Glucomannan, Cape Aloe, Cascara Sagrada, Butternut bark, Dandelion leaves, and Licorice Root

Glucomannan is a dietary fiber, and has been marketed as a treatment for constipation, obesity, high cholesterol. It may relieve constipation by decreasing fecal transit time. In the treatment of chronic constipation, glucomannan significantly improved symptoms of constipation while being well-tolerated and free of relevant side effects.

Aloes Cape has been used for centuries for those suffering from irregularity or who need temporary relief from chronic constipation. A bitter herb, Aloes Cape is a natural source of iso- and bioflavonoids, amino acids, iron and calcium and is known to produce antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal effects.

Cascara Sagrada has a long history of traditional use by Native Americans. Cascara sagrada contains compounds called anthroquinones, which are responsible for cascara's powerful laxative effects. Anthraquinones trigger contractions in the colon, called peristalsis, which causes the urge to have a bowel movement. Today, it is one of the most common herbal laxatives. In addition to being a powerful laxative, cascara is also believed to improve the muscle tone of the colon walls.

Butternut bark is commonly used for gallbladder disorders, for hemorrhoids, and for treatment of skin diseases. Orally, Butternut bark can also be used as a gentle, stimulant laxative, antimicrobial, andtiparasitic, and tonic.

Dandelion is known as a rich source of vitamins A, B complex, C, and D, as well as minerals such as iron, potassium, and zinc. Its leaves are often used to add flavor to salads, sandwiches, and teas. The roots can be found in some coffee substitutes, and the flowers are used to make certain wines. In traditional medicine, dandelion roots and leaves are used mainly as a digestive remedy and diuretic.

Licorice root is believed to be an effective expectorant, and has been used for this purpose since ancient times. Modern cough syrups often include licorice extract as an ingredient. Additionally, licorice may be useful in conventional and naturopathic medicine for both mouth ulcers and peptic ulcers.

Weight Loss Ideas And Information

By Di Amarosi

Have you ever wondered why some people find it easy to lose weight and others find it so very difficult? Most people who want to be successful at losing weight have to make sure that not only that they change their diet but also they engage in an exercise regime. Some people may also take weight loss pills or even do things as extreme as gastric banding.

One of the most important things when it comes to being really serious about losing weight is ensuring that you have the correct mental state and that you have the right attitude towards your weight loss goals. As you can imagine no amount of exercise equipment or even healthy eating is going to help unless you follow it through.

Have you ever gone out and bought expensive exercise equipment then use it once or twice and then put it in the corner to collect dust? Maybe you have even purchased one or more of those machines they advertise on television? Maybe you have several of them and you never really used them. Weight lose isn't simply a matter of buying exercise equipment and looking at it collect dust.

If you want to be really successful you really do need to change your mindset when it comes to losing weight and when you eventually do that your whole attitude will change. Why is it so hard to get out of bed and go for that walk? It's simply your attitude towards what you are doing that is the problem. Imagine how much better it would be if you looked forward to doing that walk and got out of bed with a positive attitude.

If you are really committed towards weight loss then you will succeed especially if you have the right mental attitude towards it. Many individuals find that the hardest battle is the one that they fight within themselves. When you change your mental attitude I am positive that you find every part of losing weight so much more enjoyable, from your diet to exercise weight loss will become a breeze. After you change your attitude you will probably not even remember that you are doing it to lose weight you will simply be doing it because you enjoy it. Now wouldn't that be great.

Have you ever really tried just to change your mental attitude towards losing weight and then seen what happens after that? Maybe you should. I am sure that if you really have a positive attitude towards weight loss then everything else becomes easier because you will actually want to lose weight mentally. So much is spent each year on products that don't work so you should stick with the products that do actually work and change you mental attitude and you will be one of the weight loss success stories.

I hope that you achieve your goals and get off the weight loss merry go round because that's one place that nobody really wants to be. I would wish you luck but luck has nothing to do with it.

Lose 5 Pounds Fast On Fad Diets

By Dee Power

You've probably heard of the cabbage soup diet, or the ice cream diet, or even the raw foods diet, and wondered do they work? Can you lose weight by sticking to a fad diet even if at first you think it's silly? The answer is yes.

The most famous fad food diet is probably Dr. Atkins' low carb high protein diet. Carbohydrates, such as sugar, flour, most fruits, and quite a few vegetables are eliminated from the diet and replaced with protein, such as meat, cheese and eggs. The diet is also high in fat since it's high in red meat. The diet does work and sparked an industry revolution. Even fast food restaurants were offering low carb "bunless" hamburgers. Dieters don't become hungry because blood sugar is kept at an even keel, protein takes a while to digest, and the fat means a feeling of fullness. The challenge with any low carb diet is the restriction of many foods. Menu options are limited.

Currently popular is the raw foods diet, which as you might imagine is vegan. As much raw vegetables, fruits, seeds, and nuts, can be consumed as you like. Nothing processed or cooked is allowed. Proponents of the raw foods diet say it's eating back to nature as humans were intended. The diet works because fats, other than through vegetables such as avocadoes, or seeds and nuts are virtually eliminated.

Pick up any woman's lifestyle magazine these days and you'll probably see another fad diet. There are several reasons fad diets work, even if only in the short term. When you become aware of what you're eating the tendency is to restrict the amount as well as the kinds of foods. The tomato and cheese diet might allow all the tomatoes and cheese you can eat, but eventually, one or two tomatoes are quite enough thank you.

There is some scientific support that certain fad diets do work. For the longest time the grapefruit diet was credited for weight loss only because calories were severely limited to less than 1000 per day. It turns out however, that there is a fat burning enzyme in grapefruit that helps you lose weight faster. Scripps Clinic of San Diego put 100 obese patients on three diets: One third of the patients had a grapefruit before every meal. One third drank a glass of grapefruit juice before every meal, and one group was instructed not to eat or drink grapefruit or grapefruit juice. The two groups that consumed either the grapefruit or the juice lost more weight than the third group.

Some diets rely heavily on fruits and vegetables which are up to 90% water. Eating 1000 calories worth of apples means you have to eat at least 10 medium apples. Eating 1000 calories worth of a McDonald's Big Mac means eating lunch. The fiber in the fruits in vegetables are filling, bulky and take quite a bit of time to digest.

One interesting website that gives a personal review of the top fad diets is http://www.free-fad-diets.com. The owner has tried just about every free fad diet and given them her personal ranking. She explains what the diet consists of, why it works, how long she stayed on the diet and how much weight she lost.

With any diet program, whether a free fad diet, or a traditional regime, check with your doctor before starting. A fad diet might be an interesting and relatively painless way to shed 5 pounds or so before a big event or swimsuit season.

Healthy Natural Weight Loss

By Kathryn Soloff

Healthy natural weight loss is not about dieting. It is about changing your eating habits to those that are healthy for you and helps your body to re-establish it's natural rhythm. Everyone has a natural metabolism that is clocked inside themselves. When we mess up the body's metabolism by eating the wrong foods and gaining weight, we have changed this natural process we all have to one that is out of sync with us. In other words, we fooled mother nature on ourselves.

The real truth about dieting is that it does not work for the long haul. Dieting is all about getting the weight off, then gaining it back in time. This is because the diets either have you crashing your system to avoid a lot of foods, or else they were not realistically designed for you to follow for the rest of your life. Overall, dieting is not permanent, it is something people try to do over a set time limit.

The most important step you can take toward healthy natural weight loss is making up your mind to change your eating habits. This is a goal that has to be internalized within you. A commitment to act on this commitment you make with yourself and stay with it.

Once you are firm with this goal of changing your eating habits and truly committed to following through with it, it becomes a mindset you have created. More than half of your weight loss battle is won here. This mindset action will be so forceful that it will begin to take the place of your automatic bad eating habits that are in place now.

Realizing that food is not your enemy might sound a little crazy, but this is true. Without food, we could not sustain for very long. It is what you were eating and how much of it that led you to gain the weight you are now seeking to lose. Healthy natural weight loss is not giving up as much as you might expect.

The reason some crash diets worked for others for awhile but never worked at all for you is because everyone is different. Some people love to eat yogurt, others hate the taste of it.

Healthy natural weight loss is a lifestyle change that is forever. It was your present lifestyle that allowed you to gain the weight and keep it. Do the homework and find out more about the healthy foods to eat.

Find exercise programs fit you. You cannot have healthy natural weight loss without proper exercise to burn calories. Whether it is walking, jogging, running, cycling, working out at a gym, playing an active sport or bouncing on a trampoline exercise burns calories. Your weight loss program needs to include exercise. Proper exercise is a part of the lifestyle change you will need to include. You will feel better, and more alive for it.

Remember to do the homework. Plenty of resource material for healthy natural weight loss is available. Stay committed because this is ongoing and will not happen overnight. In the end, your attitude will be more positive, you will feel much better inside and out. Your inner reflection will begin to show the outer new you.

Diet Pills The Side Effects

Diet pills or often perceived to be a quick solution to a long term problem. A quick solution often covers up deeper underlying problems, without really addressing the real issues that are involved. Diet pills can fall into this category. Taking diet pills will cover up the fact that you may be living an unhealthy lifestyle, and just taking pills to hide that lifestyle is not a long term solution. Apart from this diet pills can often have severe side effects, which may go far beyond the problems that you may have with weight issues.

Diet pills do have a place in losing weight, but they should only be taken by people who are seriously overweight, and when their health is in more danger because of excessive weight compared to the potential side effects of diet pills. People who are not clinically obese, but are around thirty or forty pounds over weight should avoid diet pills and instead turn towards changing to a healthier diet and a good exercise program. Taking diet pills could potentially give you more health problems than the excessive weight that you may carry does.

Some of the side effects can include:

Hair loss, high blood pressure, heart attack, strokes, headaches, insomnia, dehydration, dizziness, hyperactivity, and a multitude of digestive problems.

As you can see, a quick fix can often have major draw backs. One of the biggest issues of diet pills is that they are not legally required to be regulated as many are classed as supplements. The only time a regulatory body will intervene is when any particular pill has proved to be dangerous and has had regular negative effects on the people that have used them. However that will not really help the people that suffered form the side effects from the diet pill or died from it.

Another problem is that the people who market diet pills often make ludicrous claims and promises in their sales literature. Often these claims regardless how fantastic, are going to appeal to people who desperately want to lose weight. The warnings about side effects have to be displayed, but are often hidden somewhere on the packaging or on a leaflet in very small writing. This is done because manufactures want people's main focus to be on the possible benefits, and not on the potentially dangerous side effects.

If you carefully read all the writing on the way diet pills are marketed, you will actually see that the manufactures don't actually promise or guarantee any results. The way the words are written make you believe that they are promising results. You will find statements along the lines of 'may help you lose weight' or 'could help you to reduce weight'. What this means is that their product may help you lose weight or it may not. 'May' and 'could' do not really mean anything. This way the manufactures of diet pills are absolved of any responsibility whether their products will work or not.

If you do decide to take diet pills, think very carefully of the side effects, because many of them can be dangerous and some may even cost you your life. Always consult a medical practitioner before taking any diet pills. Learn if the benefits you may receive will be more advantageous than the possible side effects you may encounter. The question you need to ask yourself is that will it be worth taking diet pills and potentially endangering your health further, or is it going to be healthier and more effective to lose weight through exercising and a good diet, which have no dangerous side effects. It's your decision!
