Rihanna’s Diet and Weight Loss – how she made a complete transformation

Author: Casey Mcphee

Many celebrities have realized the importance of having a healthy diet and being involved in physical exercises. Having a healthy diet, according to Rihanna is to eliminate carbohydrate from her meal plan. Rihanna is among the celebrities who made a complete transformation. When asked about her weight loss regimen, she was quick to admit on working out and trying to eat healthy.

The type of diet that Rihanna follows is Low-Carbohydrate. It eliminates foods such as bread and pasta. In two separate studies, volunteers who had low-carbohydrate diet reduced more weight than volunteers who had low-fat diet after their 6-month long clinical studies.

Rihanna believes that a low-carbohydrate meal plan is helpful in reducing cravings and losing weight as the quickest rate. It consists of fast and easy low-carbohydrate meals utilizing ordinary foods. People who take delight in healthy low-carbohydrate while losing fats quickly will be compatible with Rihanna’s weight loss diet.

However, prior to the commencement of her meal plan, people are encouraged to know the following points:

1. Reduce sugar content from the diet. Foods and beverages such as soda, sweetened drinks, fruit drinks, cookies, cakes, and candies should be eradicated.

2. To keep the energy level high and to avoid getting hungry, it is recommended that people eat meals and snacks every 4 to 5 hours.

3. Avoid eating processed foods as much as possible.

4. Drink water between meals, preferably two glasses. If flavored waters are chosen, select sugar-free. You can even create your own by adding a lime or orange slice to plain mineral water.

5. Have a daily supplement on vitamins and minerals.

To give an idea on what foods, she eats every day; Rihanna gives a sample menu for one day. For breakfast, she eats egg sandwich with cheese, meat or egg plus orange juice. She also drinks soy protein drink and munches on low-carbohydrates breakfast bar.

At lunchtime, she enjoys having grilled chicken sandwich and garden salad that uses 2 tablespoons of low-fat salad dressing. Her dessert includes frozen and low-calorie lasagna entrée and apple. Rihanna’s Deli sandwich is filled with 4 ounces turkey, roasted beef, or ham. The sandwich itself is whole-grain bread topped with oil and vinegar or mayonnaise. Her vegetables for lunch are lettuce, tomato, and ½-cup three-bean salad.

When dinner comes, 3 ounces of roasted chicken, ½ cup of pasta salad, 1 cup sliced tomatoes graced Rihanna’s dining table. She used balsamic vinegar and drinks 1 cup of skim milk. Another choice is to have a Chinese take-out of 3 ounces chicken breast combined with 1 cup of stir-fry vegetables and ½-cup rice and 1-cup skim milk.

Diet alone is not very effective in weight loss. Exercise must be used in conjunction with a healthy diet. Weight training and cardio workout are the perfect combination to boost the metabolism.

Go The Flat Belly Diet!

Author: Jo Campbell

We all know we have to follow a healthy diet to lose weight...but oh boy, do we hate diet food! Enter the world of the Flat Belly Diet where you can lose up to 15 pounds in 32 days, while eating chocolate, and wait for it....without exercise. Sounds too good to be true doesn't it? We decided to investigate.

The Flat Belly Diet, a top selling diet book, was written by Liz Vaccariello, editor in chief of Prevention, along with Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD, nutrition director at Prevention. We all want flat stomachs don't we? The main focus area and title of this book is a marketer's dream, which no doubt helped to push the sales.

When you look carefully at The Flat Belly Diet, it really boils down to nothing more than a calorie controlled Mediterranean style diet made easy. The Mediterranean diet has been proven in a number of scientific studies to promote good health and weight loss. The Flat Belly Diet may still become one the most well known diet of its sort yet, as it provides a relatively easy how-to for the Mediterranean Diet.

Another appealing feature of the diet is the energy it appears to bring with it. Calling a monounsaturated fat a MUFA almost makes it sound like a fashion accessory, rather than a food type in a diet. Add in the fact that dark chocolate counts as a MUFA and you have a thoroughly fashionable and exciting diet!

As far as scientific backing for MUFAs goes, a number of scientific studies to date demonstrated the benefits of including MUFAs into your diet, not only to protect or improve your waistline, but also to improve your general health and mental ability.

On The Flat Belly Diet program you are limited to four 400 calorie meals per day. Again, as far as diets go, this is a pretty good limit to set. Most people will lose weight safely and effectively on 1600 calories per day. Every meal must be accompanied by a MUFA. The MUFA will also help keep you satisfied for longer, and it will most definitely make the food taste less like diet food and more like real food.

You will start off by following an initial 4 day jump-start program designed to reduce bloating and prepare you mentally before you start the Flat Belly Diet. During the jump-start program you will be limited to between 1,200- to 1400-calories, and you will have to drink 2 litres of "sassy water", a blend of water, herbs, spices, citrus and cucumber, every day. After the jump start phase you will feel less lethargic, less bloated and less constipated.

In keeping with the Mediterranean style diet the second phase (duration 28 days) focus on (aside from MUFAs) plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, seeds and lean protein. As mentioned earlier each meal is accompanied by a MUFA belonging to one of 5 groups: nuts, oils and seeds, olives, avocados and dark chocolate. Red meat is allowed on rare occasions, maybe once a month.

Aside from the book, the Flat Belly Diet also offers a dieters web-site that provides tools assistance and support. The online program allows for the customization of members' calorie needs based on age, sex, height, weight and activity level. While the program does not require participants to exercise, it does encourage it in the interest of better weight loss and health results.

In our experience, if you lose 15 pounds in 32 days, a large percentage of this will be water weight. You may find that despite claims of huge losses, you still only lose at a rate of approximately 1-2 pounds per week, the rate generally recommended by health experts anyway. To reiterate the view expressed earlier; this is a calorie-controlled, Mediterranean-style diet plan meaning you will lose weight (all over and not necessarily just around the midsection) safely and effectively.

Still, if this diet allows you to have your chocolate and lose weight - why not just go for it?

No matter which diet or weight management plan you follow, measuring and monitoring your progress is crucial to your success. At OptimalBodyWeight.com you'll find a free tool to help you do just that. It is jam-packed with lots of cool features and all the functionality you will ever need to help you on your diet journey.

Secrets To Weight Loss

Look on the internet under the subjects of weight loss or losing weight and you will come across websites offering to share the secrets of weight loss with you. This is a wonderful thing that these people are prepared to give you an insight as to what you can do to lose weight. Off course many of the secrets are not free. You can pay anything from $10.00 upwards for a secret way to lose weight.

Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that a secret is something that is to be kept private and not to be revealed. So why are people prepared to share a secret with you for a price? Surely if a thousand people purchase this secret, then how can it be a secret any longer? If there were secrets towards losing weight, surely hospitals and doctors would be aware of them, and they would let you know for free.

The truth is that there are no secrets to weight loss. Losing weight is achievable for virtually anyone if they follow the simple formula of burning more calories than they consume. Avoid these so called weight loss secrets like the plague because the only thing that will get lighter is your wallet and not your body.

Weight loss is all about common sense and any product that seems too good to be true, probably is. A quick fix to lasting weight loss is no fix at all. Simply because your body needs time to change. Your body is constructed in a way that it takes time for it to change. If you try to speed up this process, then your body will stop changing. This is why when people adopt an extremely low calorie diet to lose weight quickly, they find themselves losing some initial weight in the first couple of weeks, but after this any weight loss grinds to a halt.

Most of the weight you may have lost will be through muscle and not fat. Muscle is an expensive commodity for you body to keep because your body requires more calories to keep hold of muscle than it does to keep fat. So when you cut back drastically on calories, your body will offload the muscle and hang onto the fat. The ideal situation is to try and keep your muscle and get rid of the fat; however a low calorie diet will not allow that.

There are 3 things that you must do if you want to lose weight successfully.

Desire and motivation are a required combination for weight loss. Desire alone is not enough; you must motivate yourself to act on your desire. If I desire a cup of coffee, I am not going to get one until I motivate myself to get up and fetch one. Desire on its own is just a wish and wishes rarely come true.

Changing to a healthy diet is vital. Don't just cut back on calories straight away. Begin replacing unhealthy foods with healthy foods. Instead of eating all your calories through 2 or 3 meals a day, split them so you are eating the same amount of calories but over 4 or 5 meals a day. This alone will be of great benefit towards your weight loss goals. If you are going to decrease calories make sure you do not cut more than 400 calories a day from your diet. Once your body has become accustomed to this drop in calories, cut back couple of hundred more calories from your daily diet.

The benefits of exercise go far beyond just weight loss. Exercise can have a positive impact on virtually most areas of your life. Cardio is necessary for weight loss as it burns calories; do not neglect a weight training routine. Remember the idea is to keep muscle and lose fat. Weight training will enable you to keep much of your muscle you would have otherwise lost through cardio alone.

Forget all the fad diets, miracle diet pills, and quick fixes. Walking on water is a miracle; changing water to wine is a miracle. Losing weight is not a miracle. Weight loss is an achievable target for anyone if it is done with a sensible approach. Don't be tempted to buy any secrets to weight loss.
